Happy New Year
I have had an amazing year. I’ve done a lot of things that I am proud of and I feel as though I have grown significantly as a person. My senior year in high school is halfway over, and although I look forward to graduating with excitement, I am also afraid of what’s to come.
I’m afraid of leaving the people that I’ve grown up with behind. I’m more afraid that I’ll never have any of the moments that I treasure with them again. I know this isn’t true, I am going the college in my hometown after all. But my life is about to change in a major way, and fear is the best way to waste that opportunity.
That’s why my New Year’s resolution this year is to not be afraid. I won’t be scared to take a chance, because those chances are the ones that became some of my most cherished memories.
The great George Costanza once said that “This is the summer of George!”, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is the year of Chase. I plan to make the most of what’s to come. And there is a lot coming.
Happy New Year.
